During our technology center, students were challenged to create a voki that would share information they learned while reading the story, “Can Animals Talk”.  All the students did a great job!  Here are some of the voki’s created. Listen and learn about how animals communicate and survive in the wild.

We’re lovin’ classroom drawings! Throughout the week students earn tickets by doing homework, and by displaying good behavior. On Fridays, tickets are drawn for a number of exciting prizes. Students have won books, candy, homework passes, lead pencils, stuffed animals and more. The students look forward to drawings every friday afternoon, and so do I.

We showed team spirit on Thursday by wearing our favorite sports team. Our room was filled with sports fans of all kinds!

High School students from Childersburg High School came to talk to us about why we should say, “NO!” to drugs.
Watwood is celebrating Red Ribbon Week! Our class made a poster using our footprints. Dustin, Mitch, and Jordan colored in the words on our poster to say, “Drugs Stink Worse Than Our Feet!”

On Tuesday, we got to dress up like rockstars! Be a rockstar…stay away from drugs! Check out our pictures from “Dress Like a Rockstar” day.

We worked in groups to go shopping! We chose five objects to purchase, then we counted coins and glued them to a paper to show how to pay for the items. We showed two different ways we could pay using different sets of coins. We love working together and learning how to count money.

We have been learning about the media through our reading and our vocabulary words. We used one of the media resources, the newspaper, to produce a product that would tell about us and our personalities. We looked through old newspapers and cut out pictures and words that would tell about us and things that we like.

After we created our posters, we shared them with one another telling of the different things we chose to use from the newspaper. Some of the things we learned was that Jordan and Dontravia both liked Elvis, Jalin use to help his grandaddy work on cars, Erica likes cell phones so she can call her boyfriend and that we have several Auburn & Alabama football fans in the classroom although Kameron is the only LSU fan. We had lots of fun working on this project and using part of the media to learn about one another.
